Post Your Catch

This was a 6.06 lb fish caught on a small private lake North of Atlanta, Georgia. Does anyone know why this fish seems to have an oversized head in propotion to it's lenght? The fish was very healthy and put up a good fight.

Well, he is probably under fed. His head is the right size for his age, but lack of a proper food source did not allow his body to follow the growth of his head. the heads will grow not matter what. they are called a large mouth for just that reason. their heads must grow to accomidate large prey items. In this case, his food source is small in size. a bass does not want to burn energy on prey that will not replentish the energy he used to catch it. if you throw large soft baits and fish them slow, your chances of catching a lunker are much greater. remember, the longer the prey item or lure is in their strike range, the greater chance you'll catch the big one.the big boys wont chase the bait long.
