Happy Holidays!

Posted: December 23rd, 2008

I sure hope everybody in your household is an excited as they are in mine about the upcoming holidays. Dianne and I have 6 six grandchildren who certainly are, and I’d be kidding you if I said I wasn’t looking forward to it myself.

Before I go any further, I wanna wish all of you heartfelt holiday greetings. Ditto to those serving our country here and abroad who make it much safer for all of us. May God bless them and bring ‘em home safe.

Insofar as Bill Dance Outdoors goes, we’ve been mighty busy getting our new 24 freshwater shows complete. These begin airing on the Versus network on Dec 29th and air five times each week throughout 2009 except July.

Our new show, Bill Dance Saltwater starts airing on Outdoor Channel on Friday, Jan 2nd at 10:30 PM Eastern. The first show is a “sneak preview” with clips from several of the season’s upcoming shows,  so it’ll give you a good idea of what the shows are all about. Bill Dance Saltwater airs 3 times weekly thru June,  and we’ve put together some really exciting shows which we hope you’ll enjoy.  Our slogan for this series is “Anyone Can Do This - Yes, You can do this!”

Until our lines cross, stay warm, have a happy New Year, and if time allows, catch one for me. We’ll see ya’ again “reel” soon!

I fish mainly rivers like the chowan and blackwater in virginia and north carolina.I would like to see you fish more rivers for bass and how you approach these areas, what you look for to locate fish, and how to use your fish finder to find bass.I think it would be a lot of help to folks who mainly fish these types of waters.

Bill,
I have enjoyed your show for more years than I want to count. Always enjoyed the good, clean and amusing program you put together. Even picked up a few tips along the way.
Seasons best to you and yours. God bless.

Have watched your show many years. Met you in Lake City, SC and saw how tireless you were in meeting and greeting all those people, especially kids. Know spring is around the corner when you start your new shoes. Can’t wait to clean out all 4 of my boats and respool my lone. Good Fishin’. Don’t you need a big ol’ redneck to do one show with you???

Mr. Dance, I am thinking of trying the offset pedestal. I have the taper-lok style and a conversion plug is available. I need more foot room. Your thoughts or suggestions, please.

Bill just watched your Saltwater 2009 Preview on the OutDoor Channel. I live in Cape Coral Fl.I have watched your show for years and I am glad to see that you are doing some shows on the saltwater species this year “yeah hoo”!. I finally get to see ya bust ur hump reel’n those big whoppers in. I think its great to mix it up with different kinds of fishing as well as the techniques. If you do get a blooper out of one of those shows hopefully it will not be around sharks. Remember don’t fall in out there LOL!

I have several rod and reels that I have put together over the years and have never paid attention to matching the gear ratio with rod type, length. Can you explain what gear ratio and rod type (length) should be matched for different fishing techniques?

Recently on your TV show you were fishing the Tenn river with Phil King. I was not fast enough to get his phone number. Would like to book a trip this year with him. Could you supply a contact number or a website for him. Thanks, Ron in Az.

I am looking for a more confortable seat for the front of my boat. I have bad knees and back so after setting for a couple hours it starts bothering me. I have seen several different seats Bill uses that look very confortable but can not find them locally. Any suggestions?
