Edwin Evers Wins 2016 Geico Bassmaster Classic With New MotorGuide X5

Edwin Evers of Talala, Oklahoma, extended MotorGuide's Bassmaster Classic win streak to eight in a row with his come from behind victory at the 2016 Bassmaster Classic, March 4-6 at Grand Lake O' the Cherokees.

Evers brought in a three-day total catch of 60 pounds, 7 ounces ‒ including an incredible 29 pounds, 3 ounces on the final day to take the lead ‒ while using the new MotorGuide X5 cable-steer trolling motor.

"I really like the steering on the new X5," said Evers. "It's very responsive and has less torque. And the new design is solid and quiet."

The MotorGuide X5 with patented Variable Ratio Steering (VRS) technology helps anglers precisely position their boat and stay on fish, even in challenging conditions like wind, current, and laydowns ‒ the same conditions that Evers contended with on his tremendously successful third day of the Classic.
