Take a Kid Fishin' Good for both of you!!

« on: February 05, 2010, 11:08:35 AM »

While going through my older rods & reels today I ran across a blast from the past. A Daiwa Procaster-Z Linear interline rod. Any of you folks ever had or used one of these rods?
With all the talk about the micro-guides, could this have been the start? I don't know, but I remember that the rod handled very well, not like the rods of today, but in its day, not bad. The reason that it is in my, not bad but not great rack, is the fact that I had trouble with getting gunk, algae and such, in the rod. Then you would have to dip it in the water to the real handle to clean it out. If you were fishing during an algae bloom, forget it, you spent more time cleaning it out than fishin'. Had a Daiwa untill it was claimed by a car door. Got it from a tackle store owner for a test drive. Based on my experience he didn't get too many of them.
