had someone ask me about making a snake topwater bait. up north here we don't see many snakes swimming but i guess they do down south.
this is 14" long + another 3" with the plastic tail attached. i found these small plastic worms with a verigated pattern to use for the tail so i painted the snake to match the worm.  carved it so it would swim with the head above water.
2.3 ozs. sorry about the noise on the video, the wind was blowing and i forgot to turn off the sound mode.

Years ago on Briery Creek Lake here in Va. we used a snake looking worm (I can't for the life of me remember the name of it) to catch bass.  At one time it was the hot lure for us at that particular lake.

I like the action ... I'd be happy to test it down here in the south if you'd like to send me one ... it looks like a lunker bait if ever I saw one ... Cool

Iīve said it numerous times and Iīll say it again, predatory fish like bass donīt care if there are snakes or there arenīt where they live, the same thing goes for any forage base, the bait doesnīt have to imitate what a fish eats, it only has to look like if itīs alive and an easy prey.

Bass here in my necks of the woods have never seen and will never see a trout however, trout imitating baits work, just as well as anything that barely "resembles" the forage base ( tilpia, bluegill, minnows, tadpoles, frogs, toads, carp, crawfish ).

I have fished a lot on Reelfoot in TN. I have seen a fish hit a small snake swimming accross the lake. Little guy never knew what hit him! Neither did we! Like to think it was a big bass, but there are big gar there also.
