Ive been finding alot of new lakes around my house and they have been producing 2 and 3lb fish everyday. Found one lake that stood out from all the rest.It has a bunch of monster carp! my brother caught one that was about 48in long and atleast 50lbs and it was on of the smaller ones that we have seen in the lake.Ill get the pics up  asap  Cool

Glad to hear the weather is letting some of us go fishing.  It rained and snowed most of the day here yesterday and my pond is still frozen over.  Congrats on the fish and looking forward to pics of the carp.

they are chinese grass carp, i think.
My bro caught another one at a different lake on a sebile magic swimmer, it was 40in and about 30lbs. once again tryin to get the pics off my phone.. wish i had internet on it.  Roll Eyes

Never fished for carp....do they fight hard or is it like pulling in a 30lb log....

THanks for the input...boat is being recarpeted this week so maybe I will head over to the river and fish for some...dough balls?

Wheaties & Big Red soda make good dough balls for them. Imo 20lb is light tackle for them.

dough balls r great 4 carp, just make one the size of a quarter and push the hook into it and make the ball tight so it will seek
