WHAT: The 2018 Spring Fishing Classic at Bass Pro Shops, the largest free fishing event of its kind in North America

ABOUT: The Spring Fishing Classic provides opportunities for novice and experienced anglers to learn from the pros, load up on the latest fishing gear, interact with outdoor celebrities and win prizes. Through special activities and events like the Women’s Fishing Workshop, Bassmaster University and Next Generation Weekend, kids and families can attend workshops, participate in casting challenges, win prizes and build excitement for fishing season.

IMPACT: Customers that donate used rods and reels (in working order) during Spring Fishing Classic receive trade-in savings of up to $200. The used fishing equipment will be donated to local nonprofit organizations. Bass Pro Shops has donated nearly 290,000 outdoor products to youth-focused nonprofit organizations to help connect kids and families to nature.

Special Spring Fishing Classic events

-Rod & Reel Trade-In: Rod and reel trade-ins will again be accepted as part of the Spring Fishing Classic. Save up to $200 on qualifying rod and reel purchases. All trade-ins will be donated to local nonprofit organizations to support their outdoor education programs. To date, Bass Pro Shops has donated nearly 290,000 items. Rod & Reel Trade-In is available from Feb. 16 – March 4 during store hours (March 2 – 18 at Anchorage, Alaska; Toronto and Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario; Moncton/Dieppe, New Brunswick; Rocky View, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia stores).

-Instant Rebate: Use a Bass Pro Shops credit card to purchase new gear and receive up to $100 in instant rebate Feb. 22 – March 4 (March 8 -18 for Anchorage, Alaska) during store hours (U.S. locations only).

-Bassmaster University seminars, featuring tips from some of the greatest anglers in the sport, will be offered in select stores in the U.S. Feb. 16 - March 4.

-Local pros will host seminars in all U.S. locations February 23 -25; March 9 - 11 in Canada store locations and Anchorage, Alaska. (Check www.basspro.com/classic to see the dates, times, and locations of local seminars and Bassmaster University.)

-Women’s Fishing Workshop provides women basic fishing information and tips on how fishing can be fun – Saturday, March 3 at 1:30 p.m. (Saturday, March 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Anchorage, Alaska; Toronto and Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario; Moncton/Dieppe, New Brunswick; Rocky View, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia stores).

-Enter to win a fishing trip with a professional angler. One winner will receive a one-day fishing trip with Garmin Pro Jason Christie in addition to a Garmin echoMAP Plus Fishfinder, a $500 Bass Pro Shops gift card and travel and accommodations--a total retail value of $4,999.
