Winter Haven area
« on: March 23, 2019, 07:01:10 AM »
In a few weeks I'm going to make the trek from Toronto down to Tampa for 2 weeks to visit my daughter and for the first time I'm dragging the boat with me (her idea!!). I've spoken with one local about where I should try to show her a good day of bass fishing (her first), and he said that I should concentrate on Kissimmee and the Winter Haven area, particularly lakes Shipp/Lulu/Eloise as they are all connected by canals. Since I've only fished Kissimmee a couple of times and never been fishing in the Winter Haven area, I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers on what kind of structure/cover to look for and potential baits to use. I'm planning on getting some shiners for my daughter, but I'm an artificial bait kind of guy (much more challenging). Looking forward to getting out of the freezer here and getting on the water after a long winter!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
