FG knot is GREAT
« on: July 27, 2019, 05:58:09 PM »
I use a FG knot for my Braid to Fluoro/Mono leaders. It's the thinnest, strongest knot you can tie. The more you stress it the tighter it gets.It takes a bit to learn how to tie it but gets faster as you keep tying it.
I use 10lb NanoFil and a 6-8lb Sniper fluoro leader for my Finesse fishing and a 20-40lb Power Pro Maxcuatro braid and a 10-18lb Sniper leader for my heavier Bass fishing Slips through the guides like butter.
I Haven't had any issues with the FG knot slipping or breaking. I have hit some very tough snags, lol. The knot didn't break. I had straightened out hooks and broken Fluoro.
No problem going through Micro Guides.
I like around a 16' leader for my Finesse and a 8' leader for the Heavy stuff.
I do use a UNI knot for direct Braid tying and for tying all my lures, jigs, jig heads and hooks.

Fran.

Never tried an FG Knot. Maybe will in the future.

Just a heads up though as you see this forum will be going away here is short order. Not sure if you do facebook but we have a new group there in replacement of this forum. Hope to see you there.
