In this case, his food source is small in size. a bass does not want to burn energy on prey that will not replentish the energy he used to catch it. if you throw large soft baits and fish them slow, your chances of catching a lunker are much greater. remember, the longer the prey item or lure is in their strike range, the greater chance you'll catch the big one.the big boys wont chase the bait long.
